We are your contact for scantlings and dimensions for musical instrument manifacturning: woodwind instruments, string instruments, percussion, keyboard instruments and bagpipes.
Custom production for larger quantities is possible on request with appropriate time calculation.
The raw material is produced from healthy, slow-grown, straight-grained logs. Only high-quality wood is processed into tonewood scantlings, as this has a significant influence on the sound quality, e.g. due to growth, density and vibration properties. We have carefully selected and dried many exotic and native wood species for these purposes.
In addition to fine and well-known woods such as african blackwood, boxwood and ebony, new types of wood are constantly finding their way into the musical instrument making world. Due to the high biodiversity of wood and the diversity of its properties, great results can be achieved with species and a bit of experimenting. We are happy to support you with both well-known and (yet) unknown wood varieties for your musical instruments. If you have any questions about tonewood, our staff will be happy to advise and assist you in advance or on site at our timber yard in Hamburg-Harburg.
Our customers use the scantlings to make bagpipes such as Highland pipes, border pipes, small pipes, and uilleann pipes, for example. They also make marimbas, xylophones, and keys for other instruments.
